Oruvattam Koodiyen Ormal Meyunna - English Translation of O.N.V Kuruppu Classic!

Once More; I Wish the Cuckoo called!

Once more; I wish, the childhood is calling me back,
To ruminate the good times once spent in the neighborhood.
Playing, shaking trees and falling fruits,
Washing down the tongue stain with sprinkler splash; bitter sweet!

Sitting by the creek, doing nothing, and waiting for the Cuckoo call,
And when she calls, to call her back and tease her to call more.
Once more; I wish, the memory yard is calling me back,
And whispers “"Cuckoo, cuckoo, how long will I live?" nearing the spring of my fall!
[Once More...]

She calls back, fast and furious,
Flies away after a while, enough of teasing, she said.
Once more; I wish, she stayed back and sang for me,
Just to follow her tune that sweetened my heart.

Once more; I wish, the memory yard is calling me back,
To ruminate the good times once spent in her grass.
My wishes are just that, wishes for the good days that will never come back
Forever etched in memory, the falling fruits, stained tongue and Cuckoo’s call!
But still, I hopelessly wish for my wishes!
[Once More...]
